Hainan Normal University Training Center for National Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters) Textbook Training for Overseas Chinese Teachers opened on November. 285 Chinese teachers from 20 countries, such as Thailand, Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Israel, etc. started their 7-day training in Hainan Province.

It is reported that Textbook Training for Overseas Chinese Teachers is sponsored by the National Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters). The training in this year is simultaneously held in Chinese international promotion bases established in 10 colleges and universities in eight provinces and cities. Altogether 3,000 overseas Chinese teachers attend this training.

This training takes the promotion and application of excellent Chinese textbooks of National Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters), such as Chinese Fairyland, Happy Chinese, Learn Chinese With Me, etc. as the subject and help the Chinese teacher all over the world to deepen their understanding of basic situation of Hanban Chinese textbooks through the forms of theme lectures, special subject research, demonstration & observation and discussion to make them better master the use of textbooks.

As one of the training centers, the TCFL (teaching Chinese as a foreign language) teachers of Hainan Normal University will cooperate with the trainers from seven presses, such as Higher Education Press, People’s Education Press, etc.. In addition, they will attend training during the whole course and guide the study of the trainees. In order to ensure the smoothness of the training, the Hainan Normal University has known the diet and living habits of the 20 countries where the homes of the trainees locate in advance and set up a volunteer team comprised by foreign students studying in Hainan Normal University and speaking different languages.
