Ten fingers spring breeze, beautiful thousand years. On November 8, a series of activities of the 2024 (fourth) Hainan Splendid World Culture Week opened at the Hainan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center.

This event takes "Splendid China" as the curatorial core, focusing on the theme IP such as traditional spinning, dyeing and embroidery skills of Li nationality, and combining the three characteristic forms of static exhibition, dynamic exhibition and dynamic exhibition. They carefully planned four activities of "two exhibitions, one show and one ceremony", presenting the features of thematic, situational and experiential intangible cultural heritage display, aiming to revitalize the excellent traditional Chinese crafts and create a good cultural atmosphere for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.

On the morning of November 8, the atrium of the Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center was incarnated on the stage, and the "Splendid World, Costume Show" intangible cultural heritage themed costume show kicked off. The show selected the national traditional opera and its costume production skills and traditional embroidery projects that have a profound impact on international cultural exchange and communication as the main content, including four special embroidery series of clothing shows: Jinghua Shuiyue - Beijing embroidery theme intangible cultural heritage clothing show, with a special performance of Beijing Opera representative "Guifei Zuijiu". Shuimo Gusu - Suzhou embroidery theme intangible cultural heritage dress show, with Kunqu opera representative repertory special performance "Garden Surprise Dream" one break. Nanming Jibei - Li brocade theme intangible cultural heritage clothing show, with Qiong drama on behalf of the special show "Baihua Gongzhu" one fold. Zhifou Lingnan - Guangdong embroidery theme intangible cultural heritage dress show.

Beijing embroidery, Li brocade, Suzhou embroidery, Guangdong embroidery, the four intangible cultural heritage clothing bloom on the runway. The models walked down the slope of the exhibition hall, like a vivid flow of pictures. At the same time, the melodies of Beijing Opera, Qiongopera and Kunqu Opera continue to sound, and the residual sounds are intertwined, bringing a unique audio-visual enjoyment to the audience.

According to Sun Dongning, chief curator of the event and academic dean of the Chinese Academy of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the exhibition site will combine the living cultural space with opera, music and other performance forms, so that the audience can fully experience the beautiful characteristics of different regional cultural spaces, and the related series of activities will last until December.

In accordance with the theme of "Inheritance, innovation and creating a splendid world", the event was divided into three sections: "Splendid world, fashion show", "Splendid world, years in the theater" and "Splendid World, light of inheritance". In addition to opera and runway shows, there are also "Splendid world, years in the theater" traditional embroidery printing and dyeing skills exhibition (drama costume theme), "Splendid world, light of inheritance" national intangible cultural heritage weaving and embroidery skills project representative inheritors photo exhibition, fully meet the audience's diversified viewing experience.

In the exhibition area, representative inheritors such as the traditional spinning and dyeing embroidery skills of Li nationality, the making process of gold embroidered skirt and jacket, and the tie-dyeing skills of Bai nationality demonstrated the production process of weaving and embroidery works on the spot. The audience can intuitively appreciate the rich diversity and colorful intangible cultural heritage projects, understand the regional and cultural characteristics of different places, further enhance the awareness of the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, and promote the splendid intangible cultural heritage to shine in the mutual learning of diverse regional cultures.

It is worth mentioning that from November 8 to 9, "Splendid world, giving favor to people" - the academic seminar and research on the inheritance and protection of traditional spinning and dyeing embroidery skills, "Splendid world, thriving" - "Intangible heritage into the campus", "Splendid world, thriving" - "Village show" will also be held in Wuzhishan. They will jointly explore the path of non-inherited protection and help the rural revitalization of intangible cultural heritage.

The relevant person in charge of the Provincial Department of Tourism and Culture, Radio, Television and Sports said that the Hainan Splendid World Culture Week has been held for three sessions. This year, relying on the just-completed Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center, they extended the exhibition time, enriched the exhibition space, and introduced more interactive experience projects. They also added drama elements, so that intangible cultural heritage is not only declared on the exhibition board and displayed on the exhibition shelf, but really has the living protection, inheritance and development. At the same time, this year they also set up a sub-venue in Wuzhishan. The organic combination of intangible cultural heritage and rural revitalization will help revitalize rural cultural resources and make intangible cultural heritage a connecting carrier of rural traditional culture and modern life, which is in line with the requirements of The Times of rural revitalization strategy.

After several years of development and precipitation, "Hainan Splendid World Culture Week" has gradually become an intangible heritage brand project in Hainan.
