On the afternoon of October 15th, guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Provincial Committee and hosted by Hainan Publishing House, Hainan Writers Association and Hainan Xinhua Bookstore, the "Reading New Era, Celebrating the 20th Party Congress -- Hainan Themed Books Conference" was held in Haikou. They have launched two sets of themed books on Hainan's "extraordinary decade", titled "Majestic New Era: Hainan's Answer Book" and "Salute to the Strivers" series of non-fiction books, curated and published by Hainan Press.
"Magnificent New Era: Hainan Answer Book" written by the core departments of the provincial Party committee backbone, high political position, broad vision, concise style of writing. The book summarizes the context of the CPC Central Committee's great attention to and promotion of reform, opening up and development in Hainan, extracts the basic enlightenment of the vivid practice of Xi Jinping thought of Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era in Hainan, presents the "strategic measures, transformative practice, breakthrough progress and landmark achievements" of Hainan in the new era, and looks forward to the bright prospects of the construction of Hainan free trade port.
The series of "Salute to the Strivers" consists of four Hainan local reportage works created by Xu Chen and Li Chunlei, the leading domestic non-fiction writers invited by the Provincial Writers' Association. The series of books includes "The Whole Sea Is Deep -- China's" Strivers "Explore the Deep Sea," which focuses on the "country leader" of Hainan, and "Rubber Storm -- A Tree's Legend in Hainan, China," which reflects the reclamation and development of rubber industry in Hainan under the imperialist blockade at the early stage of liberation. Reproducing the struggle process of women's detachment of sand control turning into rolling quicksand for the oasis of thousands of hectares, The Runner with Quicksand -- The Years of Tao Fengjiao's Team in Controlling Sand. "Power and Passion -- Coffee in Hainan" is a review of the extraordinary years of Hainan coffee industry in the past 60 years. Through thoughtful, in-depth and warm stories, the series pays tribute to the strivers, while also rallying forces for the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
The two sets of books will be issued by Hainan Xinhua Bookstore, and the event is one of a series of reading promotion activities for the 14th Hainan Book Festival. (Hainan Daily reporter You Mengyu)
