According to the press conference on the economic operation of Hainan Province in the first quarter of 2024 held on April 19, according to the unified accounting results of the gross regional product, the gross regional product of the province in the first quarter was 183.698 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, an increase of 3.3%.

According to reports, in the first quarter, the province focused on the priority of high-quality development, and went all out to push policies, grasp projects, and strengthen services. By industry, the added value of the primary industry in the first quarter of the province was 37.385 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3%. The added value of the secondary industry was 28.578 billion yuan, up by 5%. The value added of the tertiary industry was 117.735 billion yuan, up by 3%.

In the "troika" aspect, investment accelerated steadily, and in the first quarter, the province's fixed asset investment increased by 3.6% year-on-year, 2.5 percentage points faster than the whole year of last year. The level of consumption continues to improve, in the first quarter, the total retail sales of social consumer goods in the province 58.528 billion yuan, physical consumption growth momentum is obvious. Consumption of food and beverages above designated size increased by 12.9 percent, and consumption of green and upgraded goods showed good development. In the first quarter, the total import and export of goods in the province was 64.23 billion yuan, an increase of 11.3%. Among them, the value of imports of goods was 42.23 billion yuan, up by 6.1%. Exports of goods reached 22 billion yuan, up by 22.8%.

In addition, personal income grew rapidly. In the first quarter, the per capita disposable income of the province's residents was 9,295 yuan, an increase of 6.0%.

The relevant person in charge of the provincial Bureau of Statistics said that overall, with the efforts of various policies, economic operation continued to recover, and the province's economy achieved a stable start.
