After 30 days, Sanya will welcome 56 ethnic groups

A press conference on the 30-day countdown to the 12th Ethnic Minority Traditional Sports Games of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Games) was held in Sanya on Oct 23. At the meeting, they released the latest progress in the preparation of the games, and the relevant work has entered the stage of the competition. At the same time, they actively responded to the attention of all sectors of society and warmly invited compatriots of all ethnic groups to share the grand event.

The conference introduced in detail the features and highlights of the games, volunteer organization, transportation, competition organization, logistics support and other aspects. The games will hold the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, national gala, torch relay, performance project award party, visit and study six large-scale activities. The opening ceremony and closing ceremony will be held in the stadium of Sanya International Sports Industry Park on November 22 and 30, 2024 respectively, and the ethnic gala will be held in Sanya Tianya Haijiao. At that time, through wonderful programs, colorful activities, and rich customs, the exchanges and integration of various ethnic groups will be promoted.

At present, the preparatory work for the games has been ready, the organizational security system is sound and complete, the organization of the games is steadily advancing, the preparation for large-scale activities is running in an orderly manner, and the elements of the games are strictly and effectively guaranteed. Fu Xiurong, director of the Provincial Civil Affairs Committee and executive commander of the field headquarters of the games, said that the command system of the games has been officially launched, 16 individual competition committees have been established, 17 project test events and 10 special drills have been carried out, the games have carried out a full range and the whole process of simulation drills, 6 large-scale activities are also in an orderly drill.

There are a total of 18 competition events and three types of performance events of competitive, technical and comprehensive categories, and the climbing coconut race event is a new competition event. At present, the drawing and ranking of the competition and performance items, the preparation of the general schedule of the competition and the general order book have been completed, and the team of judges has basically been formed. The renovation of all venues and the development of the event information system have been completed and successfully passed the functional acceptance of the event. All 9,200 rooms in 21 guaranteed hotels are ready for occupancy. According to the goals of "small traffic impact, short travel distance and route intensification", they developed micro-traffic routes and raised 1,155 vehicles to provide fast and intelligent traffic services for the race personnel. Sanya will organize the competition, benefit the people and improve the city, and implement a comprehensive improvement of the city's appearance and environment to a high standard. At that time, they will dispatch 6,756 volunteers and more than 75,000 security personnel to comprehensively improve the service function of the city carrier and the quality of the city image.

After 30 days, 56 ethnic groups, nearly 10,000 athletes and guests from all over the country will gather on the coast of the South China Sea to participate in the event. Through the games, Hainan and Sanya will surely leave a number of valuable "games legacy".
