On April 2nd, it was learned from the provincial Department of Civil Affairs that the marriage registration offices of the civil affairs bureaus in all cities and counties of our province will carry out the centralized reissuance (reprocessing) of marriage registration certificates from now until July 31st.

It is understood that if the marriage certificate is lost or damaged, the information on the marriage certificate does not match that in the household register or ID card, or the original marriage registration certificate has flaws, or the marriage registration file does not match the current identity information, the parties may apply for a replacement. Since the promulgation and implementation of the first "Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China" on May 1, 1950, if a party has been living together as husband and wife without going through the marriage registration process and has not married a third party or lived together as husband and wife up to now, and meets the conditions for marriage registration, they may apply for a replacement.

If people are unable to apply for a replacement of the marriage registration certificate at the marriage registration authority for some reason, and there are archives available for reference and the information in the archives is consistent with the identity information, they may entrust others to handle it. Where the matter is handled by a proxy, the proxy shall submit the valid identity document of the party concerned and the power of attorney notarized by a notary office. If the client is a military personnel, they shall also submit their valid resident identity cards, military documents and the "Military Marriage Registration Certificate" issued by a political organ at or above the regimental level. The power of attorney should clearly state the names of the parties involved, their ID card numbers, the time of marriage registration and the handling authority, their current marital status, the reasons for the power of attorney, and the names and ID card numbers of the entrusted persons. The entrusted person shall submit their own valid identification documents at the same time. Where a marriage registration certificate is reissued by a proxy, the name of the proxy shall be written in the signature column and "proxy" shall be noted. The documents and materials required for reissuing a marriage registration certificate, as well as the procedures, time and location for reissuing (reprocessing) in each city and county, can be consulted with the local civil affairs bureau's marriage registration office.
