On the evening of April 3rd, the "Overseas Chinese Meet Hainan Free Trade Port" theme event was launched in Wenchang City. Thirty overseas Chinese media figures, overseas Chinese leaders, overseas Chinese youth and well-known Internet celebrities from 12 countries will visit Wenchang, Wanning, Haikou and other places to experience the achievements of the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
This event lasts for six days and is themed "Open New High Ground, Dynamic New Hainan". Through the unique perspectives of overseas Chinese, the policy advantages and development potential of the Hainan Free Trade Port have been demonstrated, attracting more overseas Chinese to participate in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
Xue Zhilun, vice president of the Philippine Hainan Chamber of Commerce, who came to attend the event, said that currently, the connection between Hainanese overseas Chinese youth in Southeast Asia and their homeland is shifting from "emotional identification" to "career support", especially in areas such as cross-border e-commerce and green agriculture. He will play the role of an "overseas communicator" well and convey the policy benefits of the Hainan Free Trade Port to the Southeast Asian community.
Zhang Jiazhou, the business development director of Malaysia's Asia Times, said that he looks forward to this visit to gain a deeper understanding of the latest achievements and specific plans of the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, so as to promote it more comprehensively and accurately to overseas audiences and discover the stories of overseas Chinese participating in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Overseas Chinese media have focused on areas such as trade freedom and facilitation, financial opening-up and innovation, and talent introduction and cultivation in Hainan. They will convey the new opportunities of China's open development to the outside world through media platforms.
"I am very much looking forward to this opportunity to explore Hainan, a hometown of overseas Chinese, to deeply experience the local culture, and I am also eager to make new overseas Chinese friends and listen to their stories." Tommy Coleman, an American video blogger, said that he has posted many video contents with local Hainan customs on his social media accounts, which are loved by overseas fans. (Reporter Zhang Wenjun)
