With the exception of foreign heads of state, heads of government and other foreigners received as state guests, secret foreign guests received by the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of State Security and the National Defense Science and Technology Commission (with certificates issued by the receiving units), and diplomatic missions organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (with a list of names provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), all other foreigners are required to apply for temporary lodging registration.

Accommodation Online

You must register your accommodation with the local police within 24 hours of arriving in Hainan.

If you are staying in a hotel (hostel, short-term rental or guesthouse), the staff who check you in will do this for you. If you are staying at a private residence, including your own, you or your host must complete residence registration. You can do this online or in person.
