China’s tourist attractions are nationally ranked from 1-5A, and now Hainan has a new 3A rated attraction located in Danzhou!

The Hainan Tropical Botanical Gardens were one of China’s earliest botanical gardens, and were originally founded in 1958. Previously ranked as a 2A attraction, now the Gardens have attained 3A status.

Here travelers can stroll amongst the many tropical tree, flower, and fruit species, learning to appreciate nature while also enjoying the beauty of this area of Hainan.

The Gardens also function as a scientific research and teaching base, furthering scientific knowledge in the area of tropical agriculture. The Gardens are divided into several sections, including a commercial tree area, Palm Tree area, tropical fruit area, spice and perfume area, medicinal plant area, ornamental flower area, oil producing plant area, aquatic plant area, and more.

A total of over 2,000 species are collected in the Gardens, hailing from over 50 countries and areas.
