Sansha
Established in July 2012, Sansha is China's southernmost island city. It administers vast island groups and their surrounding waters in the South China Sea.
The city comprises two administrative districts. The Xisha district administers the islands, reefs and their surrounding waters in the Xisha Islands and the Zhongsha Islands and has its government on Yongxing Island. The Nansha district manages lands and waters of the Nansha Islands, with its government on Yongshu Reef.
The city has the largest water area and the least land area of any Chinese prefecture-level city.
