Overview
Ledong Li autonomous county is situated in the southwest of Hainan province, surrounded by mountains and sea, and covers an area of 2,760 square kilometers. Its sea area is 1,726 square kilometers and its coastline is 84.03 kilometers long.

The county has a total population of 550,000, among whom 329,300 are Han people and 202,700 are from the Li and Miao ethnic groups.

Rich tourism resources in Ledong have been attracting tourists from home and abroad for a long time. These include the largest and most well-preserved tropical rainforest in China — Jianfengling National Forest Park, the unique landscape of Maogong Mountain and the rich ethnic cultures of the Li and Miao peoples.

The county also boasts abundant tropical agricultural resources due to its excellent natural conditions. It is known as a "natural greenhouse," "treasure land of tropical crops" and "green treasure house." It is the first "national modern agricultural demonstration zone" in Hainan, an important southern breeding and seed production base, and a winter melon and vegetable production base.
