Overview
Baisha Li autonomous county is located in the central-western part of Hainan Island, with a total area of 2,115.68 square kilometers. There are 11 townships, 75 administrative villages, 10 communities, nine residential areas and 441 natural villages. This is a mountainous county mainly inhabited by the Li and Miao ethnic groups.

Baisha is situated in the tropical monsoon climate zone, characterized by a tropical mountainous climate, long hours of sunshine, abundant sunlight and a pleasant climate. It has a reputation as "the world of mountains, the source of water, the ocean of forests and the homeland of clouds." It has been awarded titles such as "a national healthcare county," "a national top 100 small town for deep breathing," "the most beautiful county seat in China" and "a top 100 spring leisure county in China." 

Resources
The rich tourism resources comprise Red tourism resources, such as the Baisha Uprising Historical Site and the Qiongya Column Historical Site, as well as natural landscapes, including meteorite craters, Hongkan Waterfall, and the Nankai Stone Wall. It is included on the national list of the second batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. 

It is one of the birthplaces of Hainan's Li ethnic culture, boasting well-preserved ethnic traditions and authentic customs. Events like the Li and Miao Cultural Festival on the third day of the third lunar month and the Mountain Orchid Culture Festival, and eight ethnic cultural items such as double-sided embroidery, bone hairpins and Laogu Dance have been included on the national or provincial intangible cultural heritage lists. It is known as the hometown of Chinese Li ethnic double-sided embroidery and the hometown of Chinese Li ethnic dance.

Key Industries
Baisha has a distinctive industrial system. It is building an ecological agricultural sector based on a 10,000-mu (666.7-hectare) green tea plantation and a 10,000-mu southern Chinese medicine plantation, as well as six other characteristic industries including red-pith orange and coffee. The county has launched the first county-level agricultural product brand in the province, the Baisha Good Food, which has significantly enhanced the influence of local agriculture. 

It is exploring new paths for the tourism industry, relying on culture, sports events and beautiful countryside. To strive for a sports economy, China's southern base for national sports training was established there, and it has obtained the 10-year hosting rights for the National Men's Boxing Championships and China Boxing Championships (2020-2029). 

The local e-commerce industry has been at the forefront in Hainan province, having established the province's first e-commerce operation center. It is the only county in the province to have been approved twice as a national comprehensive demonstration county for rural e-commerce.
