The 7th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) will be held in Sanya, Hainan province, in December 2025.

Co-hosted by China Media Group and the People's Government of Hainan Province, the festival is dedicated to strengthening international film cultural exchange and cooperation, promoting the development of the film industry, and encouraging film creation. 

The film festival's organizing committee has put out a worldwide call for film submissions. The deadline for submitting films is 12 am (start of the day, Beijing Time, UTC+8), Sep 1, 2025. The shortlisted films are expected to be announced in early November, and the award winners will be revealed at the festival’s closing ceremony.

The film festival includes the "Golden Coconut Awards" competition and the Panorama section. The "Golden Coconut Awards" competition is composed of feature films, documentaries, and short films, and the Panorama section is devoted to screening excellent films from all over the world.

Films will be screened both indoors and outdoors during the festival, adhering to the concept of “Year-round Screening, Island-wide Screening, Films for Everyone”.
