American rap superstar Travis Scott is set to bring his record-breaking Circus Maximus World Tour to China, with a performance scheduled in Sanya, Hainan province, on Nov 1.

This concert marks the first time a foreign megastar will perform in Sanya, showcasing the coastal city’s aspiration to align itself with leading free trade port cities and enhance its international influence.

According to the city’s bureau of tourism, culture, radio, television and sports, the show in Sanya will be the tour’s only stop in China. With a globally standardized stage production, the event will feature a standing-room-only audience, promising not just a musical experience but an epic sensory feast.

Multiple departments are coordinating preparations, from risk assessment to stage safety, to ensure smooth running of the event.

Scott, 34, has established connections to China, notably through his music and fashion works. His previous performances during the Astroworld tour garnered a significant fan base, with his albums consistently making waves on Chinese music charts. His fashion collaborations with various brands, particularly his sought-after sneaker releases in partnership with Nike, have resonated strongly with Chinese consumers.
