The International Institute of Fine Arts of Hainan Normal University, jointly established by Hainan Normal University and the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) in Italy, received approval from the Ministry of Education recently.

It marks the first Sino-Italian cooperative educational institution in Hainan province, as well as the first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution at Hainan Normal University (HAINNU).

Starting in 2026, the institute will adopt a dual training program to recruit master's degree students in the field of art and design, with a total enrollment of 450 students.

On completing their required courses, they’ll receive master's degrees from both Hainan Normal University and the Rome University of Fine Arts.

The green light for the International Institute of Fine Arts marks a historic breakthrough for HAINNU in Sino-foreign cooperative education.

Hainan Normal University officials said the institute would seize the opportunity to focus on fostering artistic talent, strive to build a nurturing environment for art professionals and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of culture and education in Hainan Free Trade Port.
