Eligibility: Master's students, doctoral candidates, and researchers (available for foreign students and scholars who are currently enrolled in undergraduate or higher-level programs at overseas institutions of higher learning or research institutions, as well as for foreign teachers and young researchers who are currently employed)
School Strengths
Hainan University's School of Materials Science and Engineering boasts 10+ national and provincial research platforms, such as the National Key Laboratory of Tropical Marine Engineering Materials and Evaluation and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in the South China Sea (Co-construction). The School excels in tropical materials research, including natural rubber, traditional Chinese ceramics and crafts, and marine engineering materials. With a distinguished faculty of 7 national-level talents, 40+ doctoral supervisors, and over 300 national research projects in the past five years (totaling 130 million yuan in funding), the School has published 800+ SCI papers and secured 150+ patents. Its global partnerships with institutions like the University of Cambridge and the U.S. DOE Ames Laboratory ensure cutting-edge academic exposure.
Program Highlights
1. Cutting-Edge Research: Engage in joint experiments, lectures, and projects at national key laboratories, focusing on tropical material development, marine materials, and energy devices.
2. Cultural Integration: Explore Hainan's unique Li and Miao ethnic cultures, ecological landscapes, and free trade port policies through field trips and workshops.
3. Industry-Academia Collaboration: Visit leading enterprises like Sinopec and Hainan Rubber Group to bridge research, education, and industrial applications.
Scholarship & Application
In principle, all transportation expenses to and from Haikou shall be self-funded by participants. Accommodation, meals, insurance premiums and local transportation costs incurred through program participation in Hainan University will be covered by the organizers. Participants are recommended to route their entry and exit via Haikou Meilan International Airport.
Applicants must submit a CV, personal information (Attachment 1), and Registration Form (Attachment 2) by December 15, 2025.
