Unilateral trial visa exemption policy for 48 foreign countries

Hainan welcomes international travelers holding valid ordinary passports under China's 48-country unilateral visa-free policy. The visa waiver applies to all travelers coming to China through any seaport, land port and airport open to foreign nationals (except where laws, regulations or bilateral arrangements specify otherwise).

Here are the details about the trial visa exemption policy for the 48 countries.

Purposes of visiting
Business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchanges and visits, and transit.

Duration of stay in China
No more than 30 days from Nov. 30, 2024, to Dec 31, 2026. (Exceptions: Brunei — no expiration date, Russia — effective until Dec 31, 2027)

48 countries
Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay and Sweden.

Ports open for visa-free entry

Airports:
• Haikou Meilan International Airport
• Sanya Phoenix International Airport
• Qionghai Boao International Airport

Seaports:
• Yangpu Port
• Haikou Port
• Qinglan Port
• Basuo Port
• Sanya Port

Note: In case of any discrepancies, the Chinese version of visa policy issued by the immigration authority shall prevail.
