Hainan scientists win National Innovation Competition Awards

The China Association for Science and Technology announced the winnersresults of the 4th National Innovation Competition Awards on May 30 — the National Science and Technology Workers' Day.
Three scientists from China’s southernmost Hainan province were among those honored with the awards. The three recipients were: Tian Zhixi from the Yazhou Bay National Laboratory, Ruan Yunze from Hainan University, and Huang Huasun from the Rubber Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences.
The National Innovation Competition Award was established in 2017 and is presented every three years. Each event recognizes no more than 10 research teams, 30 medal-winningindividual scientists and 300 certificate of merit-winning scientists.
The award has become an important component of China's national science and technology recognition system — ranking second only to the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award in terms of prestige among science and technology talent honors.
