The tropical storm made landfall at around 6:20 pm on July 3 in Yelin township of Lingshui Li autonomous county, according to the Hainan provincial meteorological bureau. It then swept across Hainan Island into the northern Beibu Gulf.
The first outbound flight CZ6731 took off at 7:18 am on July 4.
