Hainan conducts maritime rescue exercise at Yangpu Port

Hainan, an island province in South China, conducted a major maritime rescue exercise in waters off the Yangpu Port recently.

The rescue exercise was carried out by 28 government departments and agencies, including the Hainan Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, the provincial health authorities, the provincial fire and rescue department and the Danzhou municipal government.

Featuring maritime search and rescue operations, emergency medical responses and multi-agency coordination, the exercise was the largest of its kind ever held in western Hainan in terms of participating organizations, response scenarios and cross-department collaboration.

The exercise is part of Hainan's continous efforts to strengthen its maritime emergency management system and provide strong safety support for the high-quality development of the Hainan Free Trade Port and Hainan's development as an international shipping hub.
