The 2026 COBIS (Council of British International Schools) Primary Games are taking place in Haikou city on March 12-14. The three-day international youth sports event marks a milestone in international education and sports since the launch of the island-wide special customs operations in the Hainan Free Trade Port, and it's the first time the games are being held in China.
Over 100 upper primary students from 25 countries and regions have gathered in Haikou. They're competing in football, basketball, and athletics — forging friendships across continents and showcasing a truly international youth sports exchange.
This event demonstrates the openness and vitality of the Hainan FTP in international education and sports, while providing an opportunity for international visitors to engage with and contribute to the development of Hainan province.
