Recently, a press conference on the Development Plan for the Hainan University Science and Technology Innovation Circle was held in Haikou, Hainan province.

The city will leverage the strengths of Hainan University to accelerate the development of an integrated innovation system combining industry, academia and research, in order to foster new quality productive forces and build a new engine for innovation in the Hainan Free Trade Port, according to the plan.

The innovation circle will be advanced in three phases, namely a foundation-building phase by 2026, a scaling-up phase by 2028, and a maturity and leadership phase by 2030, with the aim of gradually developing it into a new signature landmark of Haikou.
