A symposium on the Hainan Free Trade Port in the context of the changing global political and economic landscape was held in Haikou — bringing together more than 100 participants from China and abroad.
They included scholars, government officials and representatives of universities, research institutions, businesses and the media.
After the symposium, Ingeborg Schramm-Wölk, president of Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Germany, and Klaus Zenkel, a board member of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China's South China Chapter, shared their views on the development of the Hainan FTP International Services Portal. They pointed to Hainan's open borders and its visa-free policies as a strong foundation for global opportunity and innovation.
