How to apply for an R (talent) visa

If you have special skills urgently needed by China, you can come on an R (talent) visa.

Who can apply

Talent visa is issued to those who are high-level qualified talent or whose skills are urgently needed by China.

Documents required

• Original passport

• One Visa Application Form completed online, printed and signed by hand

• A color passport photo taken within six months

• A round-trip flight ticket booking confirmation and itinerary in China

• Relevant certificate documents provided by high-level talent and personnel with special skills urgently needed by China, who meet the relevant requirements of China's competent departments.

Apply for the visa online at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center.

Where to extend your visa

If you are in Hainan and want to extend your R visa, you can choose to apply for visa documents at the window of the following public security exit and entry management agency nearby.

(1) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of Hainan provincial government: 1st Floor, No 3 Wuzhishan Nanlu, Meilan district, Haikou, Hainan province.

(2) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of Haikou municipal government: No 1 Shijigongyuan Lu, Longhua district, Haikou, Hainan province.

(3) Jiangdong Certification Hall, Haikou: 1st Floor, Zone A, Jiangdong Development Building, No 202 Jiangdong Dadao, Meilan district, Haikou, Hainan province.

(4) Foreigner registration hall of the entry-exit management detachment of Sanya Public Security Bureau: Hall 1, Chengyue New Energy Vehicle Industrial Park, Hairun Lu, Jiyang district, Sanya, Hainan province.

(5) Sanya government service center: 2nd Floor, No 259 Xinfeng Jie, Jiyang district, Sanya, Hainan province.

(6) Entry and exit window of the Public Security Administrative Approval Zone of the government service center of Danzhou: Building D18, Yixin Garden Shop, Yingbin Dadao, Danzhou, Hainan province.

(7) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of Yangpu Economic Development Zone: No 8 Yantian Lu, Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Hainan province.

(8) Foreigner visa window on the first floor of the government service public security sub center of the county-level city of Qionghai: No 36 Fuhai Lu, Jiaji town, Qionghai, Hainan province.

(9) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of the county-level city of Wenchang: 123 Wendong Lu, Wencheng town, Wenchang, Hainan province.

(10) Entry and exit window of the government service public security sub center of Chengmai county government: Located next to Tianqing Palm Water City, Jinma Dadao, Jinjiang town, Chengmai county, Hainan province.

(11) Entry and exit window of Hainan Ecological Software Park: 1st Floor, Incubation Building of Hainan Ecological Software Park, Chengmai county, Hainan province.

(12) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of the county-level city of Wanning: No 85 Guangming Nanlu, Wancheng town, Wanning, Hainan province.

(13) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of Lingshui county: 2nd Floor, Entry and Exit Management Brigade of Lingshui Public Security Bureau, No 2 Xinfeng Lu, Yelin town, Lingshui county, Hainan province.

Fees

1. Single-entry and first-time visas (non-reciprocal countries): 160 yuan per person;

2. Double-entry visas (non-reciprocal countries): 235 yuan per person;

3. Multiple-entry visas valid for up to six months (inclusive) (non-reciprocal countries): 425 yuan per person;

4. Multiple-entry visas valid for up to one year (inclusive) (non-reciprocal countries): 635 yuan per person;

5. Addition or removal of accompanying persons (non-reciprocal countries): 160 yuan per person;

6. Fees for reciprocal countries are charged in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
