If you're planning to work in Hainan province and you're not a citizen or permanent resident of China, you'll need a visa that allows you to work legally.
How to apply
You can apply for the visa online at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. The service center's website provides up-to-date online information, online consultation, online form completion and online visa application status query services.
You can also make an appointment through the "National Immigration Administration" app or WeChat mini program.

Port visa
Expats with urgent humanitarian, business, or rush repair needs, holding approved materials, can apply for port visas at China's authorized port visa authorities.
Where to extend your visa
If you are in Hainan and want to extend your Z visa, you can choose to apply for visa documents at the window of the following public security exit and entry management agency nearby.
(1) Public security entry and exit window of the government service center of Hainan provincial government: 1st floor, No 3 Wuzhishan Nanlu, Meilan district, Haikou, Hainan province.Fees
1. Single-entry and first-time visas (non-reciprocal countries): 160 yuan per person;
2. Double-entry visas (non-reciprocal countries): 235 yuan per person;
3. Multiple-entry visas valid for no more than six months (non-reciprocal countries): 425 yuan per person;
4. Multiple-entry visas valid for no more than one year (non-reciprocal countries): 635 yuan per person;
5. Addition or removal of accompanying persons (non-reciprocal countries): 22.5 dollars;
6. Fees for reciprocal countries are charged in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
