Hainan is located near the equator, with a low geographical latitude and surrounded by the sea. It offers convenient transportation and low space launch costs, and a stellar safety record, making it an ideal location for developing the aerospace industry, particularly commercial aerospace.

The province has undertaken numerous major national satellite launch missions, including launches of the Long March 5, Long March 7 and Long March 8 rockets, as well as geosynchronous satellites, polar-orbiting satellites, large space station modules, and deep-space exploration satellites.

Currently, construction of the Wenchang International Aerospace City is progressing rapidly, and the first launchpad at China's only commercial space launch site open for civilian use has been completed.

Hainan will continue to speed up the development of the aerospace city, ensure the commercial launch site operates on schedule, and it will actively expand the rocket, satellite and data industry chains, as well as the broader "space+" industry. By doing so, it is contributing its unique resources and capabilities to help transform China into a leading aerospace powerhouse.

The Hainan government has signed framework agreements and strategic cooperation agreements with the China National Space Administration, China Aerospace Science and Technology Co, China Aerospace Science and Industry Co, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, bringing new drive to the aerospace industries in Hainan. In the future, more social resources, aerospace research, production test projects and commercial aerospace enterprises will continue to settle in the province, further enhancing the local aerospace industry chain.

As the world's largest free trade port, Hainan's strong ties with countries around the South China Sea and the Maritime Silk Road provide a solid foundation for global cooperation in aerospace, boosting international exchanges and industry growth.
