A symposium on the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) under changing global political and economic circumstances was held at the China Institute for Reform and Development Academic Exchange Center in Haikou, Hainan province, on June 24.

Stephen Orlins, president of the National Committee on United States-China Relations, said Hainan had a unique position and policy advantages, which enabled it to provide investment and cooperation opportunities for investors and business communities from the United States, Europe and other regions.

He noted that healthcare, tourism and financial services were among the sectors with significant potential for international cooperation as the Hainan Free Trade Port continues to advance high-level opening-up.
