Guide to application for renewal registration of Class I Registered Fire Engineers

This guide provides essential information to applicants on applying for renewal registration of Class I Registered Fire Engineer.

Basic requirements
Applicants seeking to continue practicing after the expiry of the three-year registration validity period shall apply for renewal registration.

Where no application for renewal registration is submitted before expiry of the registration validity period, the registration certificate and practicing seal shall become invalid, and the applicant shall no longer be eligible to continue practicing or apply for renewal registration.

Applicants for renewal registration shall satisfy the following conditions:

The registered fire engineer shall be employed by a fire technical service institution or a key fire safety unit and shall meet the corresponding practicing requirements during the previous registration validity period.

Where the registered fire engineer is employed by a fire technical service institution, he or she shall have participated in and completed no fewer than three fire technical service projects during each registration validity period.

Where the registered fire engineer is employed by a key fire safety unit, he or she shall have signed at least one fire safety technical document within a calendar year.

The applicant shall satisfy the continuing education requirements during each registration validity period.

During the registration validity period, the employing entity shall provide valid and continuous social insurance coverage for the applicant.

Where the applicant has been subject to criminal punishment, at least five years shall have elapsed from the date of completion of the criminal punishment to the date of application.

Where the applicant has been subject to administrative penalties imposed by a fire and rescue authority for unlawful practice, all obligations arising from such penalties shall have been fully performed.

Required materials
1. Application form for renewal registration of Class I Registered Fire Engineer;
2. Original registration certificate and practicing seal;
3. Employment contract or appointment document entered into with the employing entity, together with social insurance certification or personnel certification documents;
4. Supporting documents evidencing professional performance during the previous registration validity period.
